Call for Art: Co-Create
Curatorial Statement
Romantic notions of the artist as lone wolf or a solitary recluse have long been a part of the narrative of the art world. While artists may need alone time to create, sharing ideas, working with others and spending time with friends or strangers often proves to be invaluable. Collaboration can offer artists a freedom from the realities of working alone, a break from habits and routines that cause stagnation. The results of collaborations are often unpredictable and unimagined by the artists themselves, a gateway for growth, discovery and play.
Call to Artists
For this show, we are looking for work created out of collaboration! Whether between multiple artists, a parent and child, artist and nature, or whatever or whomever you identify as your collaborative partner or muse. We want to see art with an emphasis on conversation, response, and connection. Collaborative projects can provide so much fertile ground for experimentation, play, and discovery. Work submitted could consist of a single art piece or project completed by multiple artists, all making a contribution to the same art piece. Through this work and your experience of collaboration, we want to learn more about what inspires you to act, pushes you to grow, encourages and supports you as you open your mind and push your practice into unknown territory? We believe in the power of collaboration to keep ideas fresh, creativity flowing, and invite problem solving and play into the process and we can’t wait to see this exhibition come together!
Submission Fee
$10 for 1-2 entries
$15 for 3-5 entries
For the purposes of this process an “entry” is an individual work of art, regardless of the number of images used to represent it in the submission. Fees are non-refundable.
Please pay submission fee here. Take a screen shot of your completed payment to upload in your application. All mediums are accepted for consideration.
