Kinhouse Artist Residency is a space created for emerging and established artists in Fort Wayne, IN. Families and small groups of artists are welcome to apply.

The Details
Kinhouse Artist Residency is committed to inclusivity. There is no fee to apply for residency, no hierarchy between emerging and established artists, and all fees are based on a household income sliding scale. Our residency is gender inclusive and family friendly. One week residencies include the entire 2 story/3 bedroom home, use of a detached art studio, use of a basement art studio, WiFi, washer/dryer, kitchen, backyard with fire pit, back deck, front porch, and common areas. The Home
Welcome to the “07”, a unique neighborhood in our small midwestern city. Our classic four square home is a bright, warm and welcoming place for you to spend time on your art. Inside the home you’ll find hardwood floors, minimalist decor, large windows, comfortable furniture and everything you need to enjoy your stay. There are 2 TVs in the house, one Roku.
The first floor has the living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs you’ll find 3 bedrooms plus 1 full bathroom with bathtub and shower. Each bedroom has 1 Queen sized bed.
The garage has been renovated to become a 600sq ft studio with heat and air. There is a secondary studio in our basement where you’ll also find laundry (washer/dryer). Sit on the screened porch with your morning coffee and catch up on your art reading or find some restful moments on our newly re-finished backyard deck. We have a small fenced in yard where kids can play and explore.
The house is within walking distance to some of our favorite neighborhood joints including Bravas, the Friendly Fox, Chance Bar, Antonnucios Italian Market, Crescendo Cafe, the Clyde Theater, the Club Room, the 07 Pub, and our beloved Foster Park with running/walking trails, gardens, and a large playground.
Residency Logistics
Travel:
Kinhouse Residency is a 12 minute drive from the Fort Wayne International Airport. You can arrive by plane and take an Uber or Lyft to the residency. Once you arrive you are within walking distance from several restaurants listed above, several convenience stores and a small Italian Market. Grocery stores are a bit further away, but delivery or arranging a trip to the store with our Residency Director is possible.
Check-in: at or after Monday 5:00pm ET of your residency week
Check-Out: at or before Sunday 12:00pm ET of your residency week
Fees:
Our residency operates on a sliding scale model ranging from $600-$1,200 for your 6 night stay (Monday - Sunday)
Parking:
While it is possible to arrive by plane, it is more ideal to have a car in Fort Wayne. There is free street parking and 1 driveway parking spot at the residency home (or enough space for 2 small cars).
Family friendly:
Our residency is inclusive of families and you are welcome to bring along your children, partners or anyone you are caring for or who cares for you. Please see the FAQ page for our full list of household items that can support your children while at the residency.
Space:
Artists are welcome to apply in pairs or groups of 3. There are 3 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed to accommodate your group and 2 studios to share. Living, dining, kitchen and outdoor space can easily accommodate 3 artists.
