Rhythms and Roles
Artists are cultural influencers, and the movements most impacted by art are often distilled down and seem as monumental abruptions and one-time events. Yet we know that change happens over time, through the rhythms of our lives and the consistent pursuit of making art a part of our every day. Repeated patterns in the studio reflect repeated roles in the home, in relationships and workplaces. Patterns, languages, and rhythms are hidden in pain, fear, and shadows. A reliable studio practice serves as foundations for joy and balance. The works in this exhibition reveal movement, pulse, pattern and play…the undercurrents of life and art. We hope they inspire reflection into your own habits, inspiring renewed affection for the simple but charged experience of your humanity.
