Call for Art: Warmth

Often, our most comforting rituals are saved for the darkest and bleakest months. When faced with the impending cold of winter, especially in another year where physical connection is not a given, we crave the warmth of compassion, tenderness and pleasure. Like sitting by a fireplace, art has the ability to radiate outward, causing pleasure and contentment. This exhibition will feature art that creates that sensation. Warm painted palettes, textiles worn and faded from use, sculptures to inspire positions of feeling held, and sounds that create tingles like a new crush whispering in your ear.

As we prepare for another winter, we are excited to put out our next call for art: Warmth. We are asking for art that responds to our animal nature and need for warmth. We invite submissions for art that can be experienced by the body in more ways than one… art that can be cuddled, touched, heard, tasted, or smelled. To end a harsh year and begin anew, we humbly seek to present to you an exhibition to warm you up.

$15 submission fee. 1-5 works may be included in a submission. Please pay submission fee here. Take a screen shot of your completed payment to upload in your application.

This show will be juried by Stay Home Gallery Co-Directors Kaylan Buteyn and Pam Marlene Taylor. Stay Home Gallery is a women-run gallery and residency space in Paris, TN. All selected artists receive a discount to our residency program.

Promotion and Social media:
Every selected artist will have their work featured in our brick and mortar gallery, on our Instagram, and on our website. Some artists may be asked to host an “Instagram Takeover” on  @stayhomegallery.

Sale of the artwork:
It is highly preferred that the artwork you submit for this show be for sale. Selected artists will be presented with an exhibition contract which includes a 50% commission on work sold. You will receive a PayPal payment within 2 weeks of the show closing.

Agreement to Participate: This is a physical exhibition where artists are responsible for shipping both to and from the gallery (unless work is sold). Your submission to this show indicates that you agree with the expectations and conditions of this exhibition as outlined on this page.
